Lei bamboo(Phyllostachys praecox)is a species of bamboo of the genus Phyllostachys,native to Lin ’an and Anji,Zhejiang province.It has the characteristics of rapid forest formation,early bamboo shooting and high economic benefit.In recent years,however,with the long-term application of "high efficient " cultivation technology,such as winter mulching and heavy fertilization,serious consequences have occurred such as soil acidification,acute damages of diseases and insect pests,degeneration of the bamboo forest,and environmental pollution.These have jeopardized Lei bamboo forest production.This study carried out a field survey and fertilizer experiments to the Lei bamboo forests in Taihuyuan Town,analysis of soil nutrients,to reveal the key soil problems and to achieve the goal of reduced fertilization to enhance fertilizer efficiency,so that to provide countermeasures for environmental friend and sustainable management of Lei bamboo forest.The main results are as follows:Optimal rate for application of Lei bamboo special fertilizer.Different application rates of the Lei bamboo special fertilizer were compared in a field experiment.The results showed that 80% rate of the special fertilizer(720kg/ha)resulted in the highest yield of bamboo shoots,being 15435 kg/ha.The increase of application rate did not increase the yield of bamboo shoots,but reduced the yield.When 60% special fertilizer(540kg/ha)was applied,the yield of bamboo shoots was reduced,but there was no significant difference compared with the maximum yield treatment of special fertilizer(720kg/ha).When the dosage of 40% special fertilizer(360kg/ha)was used,the yield of bamboo shoots decreased significantly,which was only 8100 kg/ha.Effect of nitrogen supply on bamboo shoot production of Lei bamboo forest.Results from the field experiment showed that the yield of bamboo shoots increased with the increase of nitrogen application rate.When the nitrogen application rate increased by 40%,the maximum yield of bamboo shoots reached at 13005 kg/ha,which was not significantly different from that of 80% special fertilizer(720kg/ha)..This implied that nitrogen nutrition made a decisive effect on bamboo shoot production.Effects of different fertilizer types on growth of bamboo forests.Based on equal application rate of nitrogen at 60% rate of the special fertilizer(540kg/ha),effect of four types of complex fertilizer were compared in a field experiment,namely the Lei bamboo special fertilizer,conventional balanced compound fertilizer,nitrification-inhibition compound fertilizer,and organic and inorganic controlled-release fertilizer.The results showed that there were no significant different effect on soil p H,alkali hydrolyzable nitrogen and available phosphorus between the four tested fertilizers,but the effect on soil available potassium content was different.From the point of nutrient resource utilization,nitrification inhibition compound fertilizer had the best nutrient benefit,while conventional balanced compound fertilizer had the lowest nutrient benefit. |
