The Investigation And Analysis Of Street Green Space In Songjiang City

Street is the framework of a city, the street green space is an important component of the urban green system. The center area of Songjiang city is the new city which is developed mainly in suburban areas of Shanghai, the street green spaces are very important to the features of Songjiang new city.The results of the investigation of the street green space about 62 sections of 19 streets were summarized. The contents of the investigation include plant category, application frequency, appreciation characteristic and vegetative growth, condition and disposal pattern. The main plant disposition mode and the landscape characteristics were analyzed. Based on the conclution of the investigation, the current situation of street green space in the center area of Songjiang city was evaluated, the advantage and disadvantage were summaried, and some suggestions were put forward.Within the scope of the investigation, there are 94 species of trees and 14 species of herbs were used. The plant categories are abundant, but the application frequencies are very unbalanced.The vegetative growth conditions were divided into four grades : excellent", " good", " general"" and " bad". Most of the plant grow well. The main reasons about the bad growth of plants were analyzed.There were 14 kinds of plant disposition modes. The landscape results were divided into four grades :" best"," good", " goodish" and dissatisfactory".The total actualities of street green spaces are good in the center area of Songjiang city, but there are some shortage too, and there are obvious disparity between new city area and old city area.The main advantages: The afforestation accords with the character and functions of all kinds of streets. The plant categories are abundant,and the plants can be adapted to the entironment of street. The plant dispositions make much account of tier and color. The street green space in the old city area was adjusted to local conditions, and the quality was improved visibly. The landscape characteristict and ecological effects are good in the new city area.The main problem: There is a lack of general system planning of street green space. It is insufficient about the integrity and continuity of the street green space landscape. The mode and landscape characteristict of plant disposition is similar. Some plants grow badly or plant disposition is dissatisfactory. The humanistic design and details are ignored.Suggestions: Attaching importance to street green space system planning and design. Applying and generalizing new and excellent trees. Replacing or meliorating the plants that grow badly as soon as. Exploiting the potentiality of street green space in the old city area.Attaching importance to the landscape stability and ecological effect of street green space in the new city area.
