Studies On S Content In Fujian Planting Soil And Effect On Quality Of Flue-cured Tobacco Of S Application

More sulphur (S) is needed in tobacco than others, and S is important to the development, yeild and quality of tobacco. Pot experiment and feild experiment were conducted to study the development, yeild and quality effect of S on tobacco, which were expected to introduce to farmer.With the result of valid S in 611 sample soils, we can see that the variational extent of valid S was large in Fujian province, from 1. 4 to 387. 5mg/kg, the average is 25. 8 mg/kg , and the 60% was below 24 mg/kg. So it was short of S less of more.The results showed that the development of tobacco was effected markedly by different S level in pot experiment, but litter in feild experiment.If there is potential lack S in siol, S application will hasten plant development, weighten dry matter , heighten yeild and quality of tobacco. It takes on that the frame of tobacco leaf was loosened, grease enough by fitting S application, but colour dark, surface granulated and quality bad if superfluous S was applicated.
