In order to study variation of transgenic rices' charaters and screen out superior straits, researches were made on resistibilities of many transformed parents of hybrid rice to pests and diseases and on their agronomic characters ; these parents PA-64s , E32, Yanhui-559 and Tetsing were all respectively transformed with genes as Bt, PinII, GNA, Chi and Glu.1. Examination on resistibility of transgenic rice to to pests and diseasesExamination on transgenic rices' resistibility to pests was made through inoculating pests in plants and leaves in vitro which simplizes the method of examination on Bt-transformed rice's resistibility to snout moths larva, a main pest in rice. By such improved method , examination on Bt-transformed rice's resistibility to snout moths larva with areas of aten leaves and leaf rolling percentage turned out to be quick, simple and accurate. With the improved identification method on materials' resistibilities to pests and diseases, several highly resistant varieties were screened out such as F-11 from Tetsing transformed with Bt+Pin II , PA-64SB-1, B-3, TetsingF-20 and, H-5 , which are all resistant to smout moths larva,Tetsing-G4 to rice planthopper and Tetsing-E-1 to rice sheath blight.2.Analysis on agronomic charaters of transgenic rice's offsprings(1) Compared with parents, most of transformed rices and their offsprings showed variation in agronomic charaters such as lower plant height , fructification and sterility. However, with the generations increasing, transgenic rices' agronomic charaters gradually turned close to parents.(2) In the first generation of self-copulation , some plants of variation in agronomic charaters were obtained , some of which were better than control, and some were on the contrary. This means some physical and chemical factors in the process of transformation can lead to many unexpectable variations in their transgenic generations. For example, some plants in L-25 of E-32 had the seed-weight per thousand seeds 43.33 gram strikingly higher than that of control,19.97gram. And moreover, it was much superior to the control in spike length and...
