Using the methods of "random sampling in typical colonies of the central area of the habitat", PCR and electrophoresis techniques, genetic diversity of 7 goat populations are examed in 23 microsattelite locies.(Yichang goat, Matou goat, Xiangdong black goat, Fuqing goat, Daiyun goat, Huanghuai goat and Yantse River white goat).The genetic differentiations of 7 goat populations are analyzed .The results show:l.The mean gene diversity on 23 loci of these seven groups were 0.705, 0.717, 0.737, 0.711, 0.709, 0.677, 0.717 respectively ,the total observed gene diversity was 0.902,the gene diversity between the groups was 0.711,and the total gene diversity was 0.819.The polymorphic information content(PIC) values were parallal to the heterzygosities.The PIC on 23 loci of these groups were 0.6508 , 0.6704, 0.6919, 0.6848, 0.6660, 0.6305, 0.6637 respectively, all groups appear highly polymorphism.In one word,artifical selection hardly affects them,which maintain their well special character.2.The effective number of alleles(Ne) in every group valued 6.0435, 6.9565, 7.3478, 6.7391, 7.1304 , 5.2174, 6.0870 respectively,with each of them observed allales number(Na) is 4.3239, 4.8491, 5.1112, 4.8677, 5.2110, 4.1392, 4.6350 respectively.So the differences between them are not significantjmplying the mean disperse of alleles among groups.3.The coefficient of differentiation(Gst) was 0.132.On the other hand,genetic variation within groups takes up 13.2% of total genetic variability,and this value is very low.4.According to Nei's genetic distance, These seven groups were clustered by UPGMA.First, Matou goat and Xiangdong black goat were clustered into one unit, Fuqing goat, Daiyun goat, Yantse River white goat and Huanghuai goat were clustered with the former results in order respectively.
