30 microsatellites were uesd in this reseach to study the genetic distance between five goat breeds (inluding Nanjiang Yellow Goat, Jintang Black Goat, Banjiao Goat, Chuandong White Goat and Dazu Black Goat), 147 individuals in all. Unweighted pair oroop method, Unweighted Pair Oroop Method usingarithmetic Averagr method (UPGMA) and neighbor-joining method (NJ) were used to analyze the variation between breeds through calculating genetic heterozygosity, polymorphic information content (PIC), effective alleles number, Nei's genetic distance.The results were as followed:1. During the genetic variety analysis in the five goat breeds, 287 alleles of the 30 microsatellites were detected and indicated that the 30 loci possessed prolific polymorphism in the five goat breeds.2. The mean polymorphic information content value of the 30 microsatellites was 0.796 in the five groups. The date showed that the goat groups studied in our research possessed prolific genetic information content, thereinto Nanjiang Yellow Goat had the highest mean PIC value which was 0.763 and the mean PIC value of Dazu Black Goat was 0.735.3. The mean genetic heterozygosity of the 30 loci was 0.824 in the five group and the Jintang Black Goat had the highest value of 0.819 while Dazu Black Goat had the lowest of 0.786.4.In the genetic distances of between the five groups ,the distance between Nanjiang yellow goat and Jintang black goat was the closest with a value of 0.0804 while the distance between Dazu black goat and Chuandong white goat was the farthest with a value of 0.1574.5 The genetic distances of Dazu Black Goat between Jintang black goat, Nanjiang Yellow Goat, Banjiao Goat and Chuandong White Goat were 0.1097, 0.1373, 0.1464 and 0.1574 respectively.
