The effects of the bio-organic fertilizer on the growth , physiological and biochemical characters of cassava and the physical and chemical characters of soil were studied in this experiment, of which the cassava variety FUXUAN01 and the bio-organic fertilizer produced by LIDA company were used as materials. The main results were showed as follows:The effects of bio-organic fertilizer on the agronomic characters of cassava: 1. The effect of bio-organic fertilizer treatments on the growth of cassava showed irregularly at the early time, but they showed strongly promoting effect on it in after then. At the ripe period , the plant height of the bio-organic fertilizer treatments were higher than that of the control, also the stem diameter of them were thicker than that of the control. 2. The bio-organic fertilizer treatments increased the leaf area index. The leaf area index of the bio-organic fertilizer treatments were higher than that of the control all the time. During thevigorous growth period, the leaf area index of the 40kg/667m bio-organic fertilizer treatment was the highest and that of the 50kg/667m2 bio-organic fertilizer treatment followed it.The effects of bio-organic fertilizer on the physiological and biochemical characters of cassava: 1. The effect of bio-organic fertilizer treatments on the chlorophyll content in leaves showed irregularly at the early and middle periods , but promoting it later. 2. The effect of bio-organic fertilizer treatments on the soluble sugar content in leaves showed irregularly in the early period, but they showed strongly inhibiting effect on it at the middle and late periods . 3. The bio-organic fertilizer treatments increased the soluble protein content in leaves in the middle period, but they showed irregularly effect on it at the early and late periods . 4. The bio-organic fertilizer treatments showed strongly promoting effect on the NRA activity in leaves all the time. 5. The bio-organic fertilizer treatments showed promoting effect on the total N content in leaves at the early and the middle periods, but inhibited it later. 6. The bio-organic fertilizer treatments showed promoting effect on the total P content in leaves at the early time, but they showed irregularly effect on it later. 7. The 40kg/667m2 and 50kg/667m2 bio-organic fertilizer treatments showed promoting effect on the total K content in leaves all the time, the 30kg/667m and 60kg/667m bio-organic fertilizer treatments showed inhibiting effect on it at the early and middle periods while showing promoting effect later. The effects of bio-organic fertilizer on the physical and chemical charactersof soil: 1. The bio-organic fertilizer treatments decreased the dried weight of soil of per cm3 and increased the holes percent of soil, the results of the 40kg/667m2 and 50kg/667m2 bio-organic fertilizer treatments were most significant . 2. The bio-organic fertilizer treatments increased the urease activity, the invertase activity, the organic matter content, the hydrolyzable N content, the available P content and the available K content of soil, the promoting effects were different in different treatments and time. The effects of bio-organic fertilizer on the root tubers yield: The bio-organic fertilizer treatments increased the root tubers yield. The root tubers yield of the 50kg/667m2 bio-organic fertilizer treatment was the highest which increased the root tubers yield by 70.88% higher than that of the control. The 30kg/667m2, 40kg/667m2 and 60kg/667m2 bio-organic fertilizer treatments increased the root tubers yield by 5.06%, 49.36% and 20.88% respectively higher than that of the control. It was the first time that we have studied comprehensively on the effects of bio-organic fertilizer treatments on the growth, physiological and biochemical characters of cassava, physical and chemical characters of soil in cassava. According to the above results, we can make the following two conclusions:1. The bio-organic fertilizer treatments from 30kg/667m2 to 60kg/667m2 had positive effect on improving the physical and chemical c...
