A new Tichoderma.spp preparation, Microkicklll, was studied which was made from chlamydospores by Beijing Zhongmeilu Bioscience Co. Ltd. Its main ingredients are chlamydospores of Trichoderma harzianum and Trichoderma viride and some additive substance. The amount of chlamydospores is 3 107cfu/g.The mechanism of biocontrol and plant-growth-promoting were studied. The results were described as below:1. Mechanism of biocontrolA dual culture experiment was conducted in vitro to observe the hyphal interactions of Trichoderma.spp and pathogenic fungi, and another experiment was conducted by fermertaion to determine the antibiosis of culture filtrate. The results showed that the mechanism of biocontrol of Microkick III were mainly by mycoparasitism and antibiosis of Trichoderma harzianum and Trichoderma viride. Both Trichoderma harzianum and Trichoderma viride could inhabit Phytophthora melonis by mycoparasitism, and the antibiotic substances they secreted could also inhibit the growth of P. melonis markedly. Under the conditions used in these experiments, the younger the T. viride culture, the more markedly the filtrate inhabibited growth of P.melonis. Filtrate from 2-day-old culture of T. viride inhibited the growth of P.melonis by 59.6% compared to the controls. Filtrate from 4-day-old culture of T. harzianum inhibited the growth of P.melonis by 22.0% compared to controls. So it was showed that T.viride could secrete some substances that could dissolve the cell wall of P.melonis and inhibit the growth of P.melonis.2. The effect and mechanism of plant-growth-promotingAn experiment was conducted in greenhouse by planting cucumber to determine the growth, the changes of physiology and biochemistry of cucumber. The results demostrated the obvious plant-growth-promoting effect of Microkicklll. The wet-weight of cucumber seedling was increased by 14.0%, and the dry-weight was increased by 24.9%. The seedling leaves were dark green and had strong growth trend, meanwhile the metabolizability was vigorous. After treatment with Microkicklll, RGR, NAR, the daily increment of dry weight and the daily increment of dry weight of cucumber seedlings leaveas were respectively 11. 3%, 35.1%, 17.1%, 27.0% higher than the controls; the root vitality, chlorophyll a and b, the ATPase activity in chloroplast were respectively 36.5%, 20.9%, 6.70% higher than the controls. The results demonstrated that Trichoderma.spp accelerated the release of P, K, Fe, Zn, Mn from soil, and they were respectively 13.1%, 34.75%, 12.38%, 57.51%, 6.45% higher than controls at the 12th days. The concertration of N, P, K, Fe, Cu in cucumber seedlings were respectively 5.11%, 6.28%, 21.03%, 9.30%, 4.42% higher than controls, so it was showed that Trichoderma.spp promoted cucumber seedlings to absorb N, P, K, Fe, Cu from soil, and promoted the growth of cucumber seedlings.
