Guangxi is an important area for growing cassava, the production of cassava is stili based on the individual management pattern in the process towards a cassava industry. However, cassava production has not yet been paid great attention by the government, no special technical service organization has been set up for promoting the production. However, the cassava production in Guangxi is still slightly growing with technology innovation.According to the findings of the study, cassava production is affected by many factors, such as governmental policy, market, bio-technology, technical service and environmental protection, ect. In addition, commodity rate, market demand, relative economic profit, processing costs are also affecting the cassava production. How is the technical transfer process from the cassava production base to the individual growers, how growers made their decision on the adoption of the cassava related techniques, what kind of supports are needed by the growers are important issues for planning the cassava development. By second data analysis, field survey and institutional interview, the authors clarified the above mentioned issues and identified the constraints and made recommendations for promotion of the cassava production.Cassava is an important industry raw material and bio-fuel with a large market potential in China, therefore, it production should be placed in the priority. Cassava's fertilization efficiency is high, high yield can be achieved by introducing high yield cultivation techniques. The authors also made recommendations for improving the cassava production, such as setting up technical service system, training of farmers and technicians, enlarging the production scale, promoting the processing factories, etc.
