Studies On Technique Seed Production And Assessment Of Seed Quality In Ryegrass

The trial was conducted at yangping farm at Hongya country in Meishan city and at Huangmu town at Hanyuan country in Yaan city in Sichuan. In the trial, ryegrass cv. "Maboluo" and "Bison" were studied the changes of seed yield, yield components and seed quality through taking advantage of different sowing, plant growth regulators PP333 and cutting application. Simultaneously, seed quality test and evaluation were made in Lab, which could speed up the seed production of ryegrass, and overcome the conditions of ryegrass seed yield low and poor quality and dependent on import and so on in the application of ryegrass at present, which aimed to cultivating high quality, high yield and excellent of ryegrass seed, and found some effective high yield planting techniques. It can provide a useful reference to the study and application of ryegrass's seed production further. The result shows:(1) Producing ryegrass's seed at Hongya and Hanyuan, "Maboluo" was different with "Bison" in characters and seed yield. Seed yield was increased 5.6kg/hm2 at Hongya and was increased 403.9kg/hm2 at Hanyuan. Compare to the two places, seed yield at Hanyuan was higher than that at Hongya, "Maboluo" and " Bison" were increased by 89.7kg/hm2 and 488.0kg/hm2. So "Bison"was more excellent than "Maboluo".(2) Among 1.80g/m2 , 1.44g/m2 and 1.04g/m2 three sowing rate, seed yield was increased by 21.5kg/hm2 (1.80g/m2 and 1.44g/m2), 49.4kg/hm2 (1.80g/m2 and 1.44g/m2) and 27.9kg/hm2 (1.80g/m2 1.44g/m2) in Hongya and was increased by 58.3kg/hm2 (1.80g/m2 and 1.44g/m2), 161.1kg/hm2 (1.80g/m2 and 1.44g/m2) and 102.8kg/hm2 (1.80g/m2 1.44g/m2) at Hanyuan. Compare to the two places, seed yield at Hanyuan was higher that at Hongya, it was increased by 52.6% (1.80g/m2), 53.8% (1.44g/m2) and 56.9% (1.04g/m2). So 1.04g/nr was excellent than them.(3) Producing ryegrass's seed at Hongya and Hanyuan, Cutting can increase tillers andstimulate growth to a certain extent between Hongya and Hanyuan. Meantime , it may reap fresh grass 6216.7kg/hm2. Through cutting, seed yield were increased by 1 0.8kg/hm2 at Hongya and by 34 .3kg/hm2 at Hanyuan. Compare to the two places , seed yield at Hanyuan was higher that at Hongya, it was increased by 56.5%.(4) Producing ryegrass's seed at Hongya and Hanyuan, tillers, fertile tillers, florets per fertile tillers, spikes per fertile tillers and seeds per fertile tillers were obviously increased by planting growth regulators PP333 (200mg/kg). But 1000-grain weight weren't affected. Meanwhile , it didn't restrain lodging of ryegrass after treatment. The result was as follow: Seed production at Hanyuan was higher than at Hongya after treatments of PP333, it was increased by 6.9kg/hm at Hongya and by 50.1kg/hm at Hanyuan respectively. Compares to the two places , seed yield at Hanyuan was higher 54.5% that at Hongya. But PP333 didn't affect seed quality. Meanwhile, the time and concentration of application PP333 is critical.(5) Hanyuan'seed yield and seed quality were more excellent than Hongya. Through evaluating seed quality , it also has been found that seed vigor at Hanyuan is higher Hongya.(6) Producing ryegrass's seed at Hongya and Hanyuan, Different temperature, sunshine hours and rainfall and so on affected seed yield and yield components of ryegrass at Hongya and Hanyuan. Seed yield of Hanyuan can added to 288.8 kg/hm2 than Hongya. Simultaneously , it also has been found that seed vigor at Hanyuan is higher Hongya So Hanyuan is more suitable to seed production of ryegrass than Hongya.
