In this study 8 maize hybrids and fifteen inbred lines popularized in Sichuan were studied by morphology observation in field, isozyme and random amplified polymorphic DNA(RAPD) marker. The results as following:1. The genetic distance of 15 inbred Lines were calculated base on factor analysis of 16 quantity date. The experimental lines were classified 3 groups:Cluster I including 478 > 5003,7922,698-3,32; Cluster II including 18-599, 156,7327,Qi205,77,200B,48-2,Zi330,Cheng687;Cluster III including 837. The groups agreed partly with known predigree in formation. 8 maize hybrids were classified 4 groups. The result is hardly the same as the predigree.2. 3 different peroxidase zymograms were observed among the experimental materials. The difference among the experimental materials. The difference between the inbred Lines reveal by isozyme markers is not very big. Only partly Line agreed with known predigree information. 8 hybrids were divider into 3 isozyme patterns:first, the zymograms of the hybrids and their parents is the same;Second, the zymograms of the hybrids is only the same as the father Lines;third, the zymograms of parents are not the same and the zymograms of hybrids is complement.3. The result according to RAPD markers stated that the difference of 15 inbred lines is big. The lines were classified 4 groups:Cluster I including 7922,32,478,5003,698-3,Cheng 687;Cluster E including 77,48-2,OJ205;Cluster ffl including Zi330,200B,7327,l 8-599,156;Cluster IV including 837. The groups has good consistent with predigree. 8 hybrids were classified 3 groups. The result is the same as the predigree greatly. According to the results of RAPD,4 heterotic model were divided. The germplasm bases of hybrids grown on more that in 1980's.4. The correlation were calculated between HH,HM,HP of hybrids and the genetic distance of parents according to the morphology observation in field and RAPD markers. The results are not significant. It states that the genetic distance is not important to the heterot. The correlations of the isozyme patter ns and HH,HM,HP are the same. So the isozyme patterns can not be used to predict the heterot.5. According to the results of three means,RAPD markers is better than morphology observation in field, and morphology observation is better than isozyme.
