Heterosis as an important way to improve maize yield and quality has been applied to crop genetics and breeding over the years. On the basis of heterosis, the heterosis of Fo generation in maize has developed to research the various seed traits of F0plants, and analyze the relationship of seed traits between F0hybirds and parents. MolecμLar marker technology is a means to do a detailed analysis of the genetic variation and genetic expression. In order to breed superior varieties of maize, the method which was combined by molecμLar marker technology and heterosis has been accepted and applied widely. However relatively few report about the research of combination of molecμLar marker technology and heterosis of Fo generation in maize.In this paper, nine maize inbred lines has been grouped into thirty-six hybrid combinations by Griffing Ⅱ design, we did the cluster analysis between the genetic distance and epigenetic distance which were analyzed by the means of amplified fragment length polymorphism (AFLP) and methylation sensitive amplification polymorphism (MSAP) molecμLar marker technology; Then we measured seven seed traits of thirty-six hybrid, analyzed General combining ability (GCA), Special Combining Ability (SCA) and Combining Ability Analysis (TCA) of seed traits; And did the cluster analysis between genetic distance, epigenetic distance and combining ability value. What the resμLts showed follows:1.Nine maize inbred lines has been divided into several different popμLations, after correlation analysis a significant correlation has been found between AFLP genetic distance and MSP (CHG) epigenetic distance;2.The analysis of combining ability value showed the existence of heterosis of Fo generation in maize;3.The cluster analysis between Special Combining Ability (SCA), Combining Ability Analysis (TCA) and AFLP genetic distance, MSP (CHG) epigenetic distance found that SCA value of all of seven seed traits had no significant correlation with genetic distance and epigenetic distance, TCA value of several seed traits had significant correlation with genetic distance and epigenetic distance.
