Studies On The Need Of Energy And Protein And Calcium And Phosphorus Of Lactating Buffaloes In The Lactating Period

Ten healthy lactating buffaloes feeding on the same diet consisted of beer meaLcassara meal.elephant grass and concentrated feed was divided in two groups to study their need of energy,protein.calcium and phosphorus during the lactating period .The amount of beer meal,cassara meal,concentrated feed of one group was 80% percent of that the other group,the trial animals eat elephant grass ad libitum.2 x 2 factors cross-feeding trial was used.Respiratory trial and digestibility and metabolism trial was carried out respectively during the middle term of every feeding trial period.The period of every feeding trial,respiratory trial ,digestibility and metabolism trial was 30 days,7 days.3 days. To lactating buffaloes,the study results showed that: (1) the digestibility of dry matter and diet energy was 69.14% ,67.62% respectively;the metabolic rate of general energy intake and digestible energy intake was 54.67% and 80.32% respectively:the utilization rate of metabolic energy for milk production was 34.58%;the fasting heat production was 32006 KJ/W0 75.d.the heat increment was 238.96KJ/W0 75.d;the methane energy was about 10% of general energy intake ;the requirement of metabolic energy(MER) of lactating buffaloes could be calculated by equation:MER (KJ/d)=623.03W075 (kg)+2991 .4FCM(kg/d).(2) the digestibility of diet protein was 71 .85%;utilization rate of digestible nitrogen to milk nitrogen was 27.63%;to produce 1 kg FCM(milk fat percentage is 4%),103.39g digestible crude protein was needed;net protein utilization was 0.41 ;the equation to calculate crude protein requirement(CPR) was:CPR(g/d)=8.23 W075(kg)+68.9OFCM(kg/d).(3) the digestibility of calcium and phosphorus was 31.47% and 35.01 %;the equation to calculate the requirement of calcium(CaR) and phosphorus(PR) was:CaR(g/d)=0.06676LW(kg)+3 .81 FCM(kg/d); PR(g/d)=0.0479LW(kg)? .32FCM(kg/d).LW was live body weight, W075 was metablic weight.
