Study On The Safety Of Transgenic Insect - Resistant Crops

Planting transgenic pest resistant crop could reduce the use of chemical pesticide, and could protect agriculture environment from pollution, and can push the sustainable development of agriculture. There were discussions about the safety of transgenic pest resistant crop. Lately Chinese had improvement in the development of transgenic pest resistant crop, and the planting areas of transgenic pest resistant crop increased. In2009, Chinese issued the security certificates of transgenic pest resistant rice. The transgenic pest resistant grain had sparked a sensation about the safety of transgenic pest resistant crop. Therefore, the environment and food security of transgenic pest resistant crop were analyzed in this paper. The result showed that there were risk in transgenic pest resistant crop and the security of transgenic pest resistant crop was not certain. We analyzed the different of transgenic pest resistant crop between Chinese and foreign country. The result showed that there were some short in Chinese transgenic pest resistant crop management. Then we investigated the level of people understanding to biotechnology in Fujian. The result showed that people understanding to biotechnology was low, consumption will of was not strong, and people worried about the security of transgenic pest resistant crop. So it is too early to large scale commercial planting of transgenic pest resistant crop, and the research and supervision on the environment and food security of transgenic pest resistant crop should continue for a very long time.
