| Unlike the characteristics of urban residential building energy consumption, energy consumption by rural households has its own unique characteristics. This paper tries to study and analyze the energy consumption by rural households in northern Hunan and dig out the features of the energy consumption. After that, analysis is made to find the factors that affect energy consumption by rural households. In addition, the improvement of rural housing habit and energy efficiency used in daily life in this area will be made.In order to obtain the current situation of the rural energy consumption by northern Hunan Province, energy research was made in five rural areas in northern Hunan. Electricity equivalent calculation was applied in the energy statistics in these five villages.According to the characteristics of rural energy consumption by northern Hunan Province, characterization will be made from these aspects like the distribution of energy consumption, type of energy consumption source, energy consumption for end-use, building profiles, household information, economic costs and environmental impact.There is not a single factor that affects rural energy consumption by northern Hunan, but there are a number of factors for combined effects. Therefore, partial correlation analysis method was applied in this article to analyze rural energy consumption by northern Hunan and to find the factors that affect the energy consumption. Quantitative theory is used for variables that don't have a quantitative change because quantitative theory can be more comprehensive to analyze the impact of rural energy consumption factors, to study the linkages between various factors and to compare the various qualitative variables for rural energy consumption.The high energy consumption for households in rural areas is mainly due to biomass and heavy use of coal for cooking, and however the efficiency use of traditional energy is low that results in the high energy consumption, especially the use of biomass. Therefore, this article is to explore the characteristics of wood stoves, biomass fuels and coal stoves in the northern part of Hunan province and relevant measures for improving the energy use are proposed for rural households. This is a very meaningful measure. The local heating and cooling are basically applied in these rural areas to achieve thermal comfort. In particular, local heating is inefficient, that consumes a lot of energy. As economic conditions improve, residents hope that the thermal comfort is improved gradually. From a feasibility point of view, it is a most effective way to improve the thermal efficiency of heating and to reduce the heating energy consumption. From the quality of life point of view, it is the public trend to improve thermal comfort in terms of the architectural design of passive or active air-conditioning technology. |
