Electromagnetic Continuously Variable Transmission (EMCVT) is a new kind of Continuously Variable Transmission, Due to its compact structure and excellent mixed type hybrid system performance, compared with common EVT, the hybrid excitation control system can adjust the air-gap flux density and in its armature reaction the circuit reactance is lesser also. Currently it has become one of the most powerful and ideal CVT to HEV.The core technology of HEV is the hybrid drive system, Motor is one of the key components in hybrid drive system, its performance will have a direct impact on hybrid automotive dynamics, economy and emission performance. It is essentially a new hybrid drive system, due to its instead of hybrid electric vehicle, the power of the motor system etc, thus From the functional principle of EMCVT and the characteristic of its topological structure, optimize the electromagnetic parameters and structure layout of the system, improve its cooling mode, can help to improve the work efficiency and service life, reduce the cost and improve the performance of hybrid electric vehicle. Based on the specific power transmission system, the EMCVT parameters and cooling system were designed, which involves the selection of motor and electrical cooling oil, heat calculation, cooling method, and temperature field simulation research of the oil cooling system, the main work are as follows:First, based on drive motor performance requirements in hybrid cars and EMCVT characteristics of its topological structure, the motor were reasonably selected; According to the EMCVT prototype design requirements, the electromagnetic parameters of each module was optimized;Combining the characteristics of oil cooling, the structure of EMCVT was designed.Secondly, the generated thermal of EMCVT was analyzed and the loss of EMCVT under CYC-ECE-EUDC conditon was calculated by Matlab/Simulink,which provides the necessary reference to cooling system design.Thirdly, according to the principle of immersed oil cooling, the cooling oil was selected, and the circulating oil cooling system was designed.Finally, according to oil cooling system, the temperature field model was built by finite element method and the temperature rise was simulated to verify its cooling effect.
