The Construction Of Space In The Process Of Preserving Ancient Building

In recent years, along with the influence of the ideological trend of spatial turn in sociology, some sociologists have done more and more research in the modern space theory. Works and views of M.Foucault, H.Lefebvre, D.Harvey, E.Soja and M.Castells are also introduced by them frequently. I also have a strong interesting in space theory, so when I choose my topic and composed my paper, I thought about what apocalypses we can obtain when we survey our world with the perspective of social space all the time.In this research, I choose the Memorial Temple of the Huai Loyalty Army in Bao Ding as my study object. I want to find out how social space is being created step by step in the process of the demolition reconstruction of the Memorial Temple of the Huai Loyalty Army through the method of trying to combine the space theory and the practice of preserving ancient building and the method of literature search and field research including observation and interview.After interviewing and analyzing the government workers, local residents, unit of property right, the study pointed out that how main action bodies'act is adjusting with specifically logic, when outside situations and inside resources change, main action bodies'acts change. At the meantime, the study expounded and proved the view that the world we live in is not only developing with time series but also a social network. In the social network, action bodies build a space implicated with power and resist. When we relocation, repair and protect the Memorial Temple, it manifested much means like ancestral temple, family, historical and cultural site, moreover it is a social space with competition.To settle the conflict of benefits and accelerate the harmonious development of space, we should take the following measures: The government which is the dominant force in changing space should enhance it's validity and authority, allay peremptory actions, increase the public expressive channels, set up public agenda and guide the behavior of citizens; Meantime, citizens should increase the ability to participate in the management of state affairs, and negotiate with government through building self-governing organizations. Besides, citizens should deal with the problems logically between personal interest and urban development; the media should play the role of "social instrument" to record and monitor in the practice process of space.
