Wall structure as a lateral stiffness and excellent seismic performance of structural form, are mainly used for high-rise structures, and the shear wall design method which is set forth in"Design of Concrete Structure","Technical Specification for Concrete Structures of Tall Building"and Seismic Design of Building",based mainly on high-rise structures. However, due to some advantages compared to other structures, RC shear wall structure is gradually applied for the low-rise residential building.But if the structure is designed with current standard , it will inevitably lead to waste. How to design the low-rise RC shear wall structure by a more economical and reasonable way, is the engineering problems which is need to solve. In order to promote low-rise shear wall structure in Chongqing, which is in six degree area,Chongqing Municipal Construction Committee proposed the research project about low reinforcement shear wall, which is undertaken by The Civil Engineering College of Chongqing University . Related work in this paper belong to the research project. This paper adopt the experiments and theoretical analysis,aim to reduces the design specification requirements on the wall, The main contents of this paper are:①According to the engineering example, the anthor design a 7-storey shear wall structure which locate in six degree area. and the structure is carried out the inelastic time history analysis by FW-EPA non-linear procedure. Through the analysis we obtain shear wall damage state, ductility and story drift angle and so on under the initial earthquake.②Through the following experiment the author complete 7 specimens span-to- depth ratio of 1.2. The main variables are: longitudinal reinforcement ratio, horizontal (vertical) distribution reinforcement ratio,boundary stirrup ratio; Due to diversity of section form, the specimens are shaped by the工-type T-type,一type, three cross-section form. Mainly on the lower design requirement, the shear wall failure modes, the stress development of the relevant parts ,deformation properties.③The test result is carried out the comprehensive compare, and the feature of seismic behavior is obtained.④Based on experimental and theoretical analysis, seismic design method structural measures are proposed which are suitable to multi-storey shear wall structure at 6 degree area. The main conclusions: After a reasonable design, low-reinforced shear wall structure can be applied with low-rise residence at 6 degree area..
