The diesel engine cooling system of heavy duty commercial vehicle will influence the engine performance and reliability. The modeling software is helpful to analysis the cooling efficiency during the pre-design period, to avoid time and cost waste on post improvement and test validation. The thesis is to research the engine cooling systems'heat transfer process based on heat transfer theory and define heat transfer model for diesel engine cooling system of heavy duty commercial vehicle by using the heat management simulation and analysis software"KULI"in order to analyses the cooling efficiency under full laden condition. There are two test methods to validate the model's validity, one is the bench test about simulation driving and the other is vehicle driving test on road. The test results show that the heat transfer model is effective to simulate the cooling efficiency.
