Abstract/Summary:
The implementation of aesthetic education in the teaching of classical gardens is actually the concrete application of aesthetic theory in tourist geography. It combines general cognitive activities with aesthetic activities, stimulating students'emotions, enlightening their minds and promoting the harmonious development of education. Compared with other disciplines, tourist geography can better highlight the function and value of aesthetic education. Besides, classical gardens are geographic embodiments reflecting concentrated ingenious combination of natural and human environment, which enables them to provide first-hand material to the enhancement of student aesthetic abilities and competence. Therefore, to enhance student aesthetic abilities in teaching of classical gardens becomes an important research subject.Based on the theories of aesthetics, education and psychology, this thesis makes a comprehensive reflection on teaching of classical gardens through a questionnaire survey, aims to enhance the aesthetic ability of kindergarten teacher students, and to cultivate their comprehensive and innovative capacity.The thesis expounds from five parts, part I focus on the significance of studying classical gardens and geographical aesthetic education. Part II mainly introduces the status of aesthetics in the Ming and Qing classical gardens and the domestic scholars' research on tourist aesthetic education and teaching. The third part, bases on the results of the questionnaire survey, analyses the factors that affect students' geographical aesthetic process, thus make it clear the importance of cultivating students' aesthetic and emotional capacities in tourist geography teaching. Part IV, according to the results of the survey, addresses the role of student aesthetic-ability enhancement in the teaching of classical gardens. The last part discusses the methods to enhance student aesthetic-ability in the teaching of classical gardens.Finally we conclude that:â‘ According to the analysis of classical gardens and geographical aesthetics, schools and teachers do not attach enough importance to aesthetic education; students have low level of geographic aesthetic ability; nonetheless their aspirations of beautiful geographic things are quite urgent.â‘¡Geography teaching is one of the best subjects to enhance students' aesthetic competence.â‘¢Key measures to enhance students'aesthetic ability in teaching are, the creation of situational teaching and aesthetic mood, the perception of the existence of aesthetic education and the practice of experiencing, creating and deepening beauty.â‘£Schools, teachers, and teaching plans should grant enough time and space of extra-curricular activities for students to experience the beauty of classical gardens in person and thus to enhance their aesthetic abilities.The purpose of this study is to students who majoring in kindergarten teaching , to improve the ability to appreciate and judge horticultural arts and to point out that aesthetic education not only can enhance students' cognitive abilities, but also plays an important role in promoting students' future growth and the chance of employment.
