The greatest advantage of the power-line network is that it covers a very wide range. It is a technological superiority in the data transmission.At present,the low power line carrier\communication system of the domestic and foreign civil still has many problems.For example,the Meter Reading systems ,all of them are not can achieve 100% and the punctual request. The main interrupting reasons come from signal of line and natural electrical signal.This article made more overall comprehensive analysis to the electric power line carrier communication medium which is on the basic of the character of transmit data. It contains two parts, hardware device and software analysis. Intellective detecting system has many inherent characters, including real-time data transmission, message collection and data analysis. The conventional measuring method need more time and strength. However, the data acquisition system that is base on PLC can solve such problems.Firstly, the article describes the development of domestic and foreign PLC technology, the corresponding products and it's future. Secondly ,the characteristic of power line channel is discussed from the transmission lines, noise, and channel attenuation in this paper. And a project of power line communication in the short distance of a house is presented.Then, the design of the power line communication module based on that project is expounded in detail. From the results of the experiments,the design of hardware is proved right,and some new methods that can improve the performances of FSK, PLC are presented at last in this paper. Thirdly, the rainfall monitoring system come into being after the above analysis. Lastly, the results of the experiments, the design of hardware is proved right and some new methods can improve the performances.The design of PLC hardware and software module are the emphases of this paper. It inherits the data transmission character of intellective detecting system. The interface of power line, modem and controller are main parts of the module. It contains coupling mechanism, modulator-demodulator, the controller and the corresponding software. The aim of experiment is to test the system and research the character of information channel. This maybe improve the system The original points of this article are the appropriate use of PLC and the precise system design. The results of experiment show that the system is valid and effective.
