With the fast development of high education of our country and the deep reform of colleges and universities, construction of domestic colleges and universities enter into a new era of development. Moreover, along with the changes of the years, there exists the problem of university architectures becoming outdated to different extent. For example, they are worn down by the years without repair, the equipments are outdated, the coefficient of application is lowering, and they can't satisfy the needs of teaching and research, what's more, the style of architectures don't match that of construction in new campus, renovation and reconstruction of architectures in campus are demanded by these realistic conditions. It is one of important methods of sustainable development of colleges and universities to renovate and reconstruct the existing architectures. It is also one of the important measures which can protect the campus environment, continue the history of the college and realize the sustainable development of university architectures by using the existing resources to the maxim extent. Therefore, renovation, reconstruction and recycling of the existing architectures in the colleges are important components of campus construction.The thesis is mainly discussed the renovation, reconstruction and recycling of individual existing architectures in the university, it also gives a brief account of the development of our universities and the realistic problems faced by the construction of the contemporary university. By means of field research, it systemically classifies and inductively analyzes the renovation, reconstruction and recycling of individual existing architectures, and it also inquires into the renovation and reconstruction of university architectures by taking an example of renovating and reconstructing of existing architectures during the construction of new campus in University of Science and Technology Liaoning, especially the case study of the renovation and reconstruction of two representative teaching buildings. Several ways of renovation and reconstruction including the mutual and unique characters of each way were analyzed and concluded And the advantages and disadvantages of each way were discussed as well, and then it puts forward the design principles and ways of renovation, reconstruction and recycling of university architectures. The creativity of this subject lies in the research and analysis on the basic elements and systems of renovation and reconstruction of university existing architectures and also taking a real example of the renovation and reconstruction of existing architectures in new campus in University of Science and Technology LiaoNing, it further verifies and updates the research results, and then seeks for the new ideas of renovation and reconstruction of university existing architectures. And finally the trends, strategy, steps, principles and ways of the renovation, reconstruction and recycling of universities architectures are concluded which can accumulate the valuable experience of the reconstruction of university existing architectures and the sustainable development of university constructions.
