The Evolvement Trend Of The Institutional Unit Community In The City Of China

After the People's Republic of China has founded-and before Civil Housing Reform has been implemented, the state owned enterprises and institutions (hereinafter referred as unit) occupied designated areas of the city, and built employee residential zone as unit community around their business or production section. At present, China is in a transitional period that units system is breaking down, housing reform is being implemented, population immigrant starts up, unit community is being differentiated and real estate marketization is being accelerated; so it is just a matter of time that the unit community is to differentiate or break down in such a complex environment. An urban unit community of state owned institution in China has all the representative features of the unit community, and its evolution features inevitability, long term and complexity; it gradually develops from a single community into a hybrid community within the two choices made by human in modernization process, i.e., the processes of community socialization and social humanization.This thesis takes residential compound of Lanzhou University as investigation sample, and a combined investigation of questionnaire, site interview and inspection has been performed between May and August, in 2008.132 validated surveys and 48 interviews of this investigation has been processed and analyzed by SPSS software.The thesis consists of five sections, including preface, theoretical assumption, case study, trend forecast and conclusion, and theoretical assumption, case study, trend forecast are key contents of the thesis. A theoretical assumption of unit community evolution in China is extracted by following the related concept and consolidating the investigation data of a number of researchers; the theoretical assumption is verified by the example of Lanzhou University residential compound; consequently, a trend forecast has been made on the future evolution of Lanzhou University residential compound.The study on urban unit community of state owned institution in China is a macro study on China community research. The study on the evolution root cause, impacted factors, impacting process and results contributes to a correct guidance on the sense of identity and belonging in community plan, and also, it contributes to the instruction of urban community planning and development decision, in addition, it contributes to the implementation of China urban sustainable development.
