Nowadays, people have to face many inevitable problems in terms of the sustainable development of environment, low carbon structure, the nationality and modernity of traditional culture, the recurrence of local culture, globalization and locality. It is a natural rule that new things will take the place of old things, which does not mean that orthodox should be abandoned. This paper illustrates the 'Screen Wall'of Chinese ancient architecture and explores its internal culture, intentionality, symbolic and the adoption in modern architectural design.This issue includes two main implications. One is the Screen Wall existing as an entity. The other is the architecturesque forming as a psychological mechanism. There are numerous relationships, such as void and actual, hidden and obviously exsisting in entity and architecturesque. The interaction and comparison of these two implications reflect the feature of traditional architectural space, the methodology of spatial processing as well as the human spirit. This subject is a research of the combination of material and consciousness. The material determines the consciousness, simultaneously, ideology also reacts in material. The research of Screen Wall's history, cultural, sculpt, color, decoration reflects the philosophy of consciousness, ethics idea, the cultural of mind, the esthetic artistic conception, the design concept of technique, design rules, the constitution of mechanism and so on. In addition, the emotional aspect of Architecturesque would also exert a significant influence on the changes, development and extension of Screen Wall.How to extend the utilize of symbols into the modern design is the core of this paper. Raising "objects" to the psychological level and to the "object" again is the logical relationship between the Screen Wall and "Architecturesque". On the first level, we need to do more research, collation and finding. On the second level, psychological lever raises to the "objects" level again. This change is a spiral process. Modern architecture is the'object'and cultural intension is the psychological system. Therefore, to grasp its inherent culture and inform the Architecturesque is helpful for people to understand the saying "not imitating shape, and seeking the immanent spirit" which is the best solution of modern design and traditional nationality issue.At the same time, the traditional Philosophy reflected in Screen Wall- "harmony between the heaven and human" which coincides the promotion of sustainable development in such an era. The U.S. scientists Ms. Carlson wrote a book named "Silent Spring" which has warned that soil texture has been damaged, thousands of insects and birds have been killed because of the excessive use of pesticide. People should reconsider their selfish behaviors to the nature.
