Energy crisis, environmental pollution and global warming have brought great threat to the sustainable development of humanity, which are attracting the attention of worldwide scholars. From the perspective of energy consumption and environment impact, architecture, as closely related with social and economic development, is one of the things that architects especially need to self-reflect on. The ecological dilemma points to necessity of researching ecological method during architecture design. Architects must assume corresponding social responsibility and produce environment friendly and energy saving architecture. The primary purpose of architecture is to shelter a comfortable environment for people and maintain the differences between artificial and natural climate. The practice that consumes large amounts of energy through technical means to meet the comfort of indoor space should be limited. Architecture design should be based on rational adaptation to different climate conditions and take full advantage of favorable climate energy in order to minimize the energy consumption during building operation. The ecological concept should be carried out since the origin of design, and that would be creating space. In this respect, this thesis chooses "Architectural Chamber" as research object to explore the ecological strategies corresponding to different climate conditions.First, combining the results of previous research, I expound the dialectical relationship between climate and architecture. Based on the theories of morphogenesis, architectural bionics and ecological climate, the definition and scope of architectural chamber is brought forward. Next comes the core of the thesis. Combining with examples I probe into the utilizing principles, constraints, architectural and technical methods of chamber in connection with different natural elements (wind, light). At the end of this section, I summarize the chamber forms adapting to different kind of climate conditions. Last but not the least, the architectural chamber forms are classified based on typology. I choose some typical types to analyze the ecological strategies that applied in examples. Architects usually use different chamber forms together in the buildings aiming to achieve the effect of ecological regulation, which are also listed in this paper. This thesis stems from the concern of ecological architecture design, and try to analyze the ecological strategies applied in architectural chamber design from the perspective of how the energy flow affect the special form. It seeks to provide a new breakthrough point for the research of building energy saving and ecological architecture.
