While entering the 21st century, "sustainable development" has been a main trend for world and the architectural academic development. Since China has been experiencing a period of rapid urbanization, the traditional culture that was behind the traditional villages and residences now has been discarded. So, Chinese architects nowadays turn their eyes upon the traditional residences, trying to recall the traditional cultures.The Eco-mode of the village are embodied from the site-selection, site plan, buiding plan, structure systems, material-selection and so on. So, an on-site visit to the village was done on the year 2010, for a temperature-relative humidity recording research. According to the recording data, a conclusion was concluded that, the traditional residences experience a good indoor thermal environment.To obtain the specific indoor physical environment condition of the residences in Zhang-guying villages, this paper applies computational-simulation, using simulation softwares as Dest-h, Fluent, Ecotect to do the analysis. As the simulation analysis results reveals, residences in Zhang-guying village are very good in thermal environment condition, and natural ventilation, but barely good in natural lighting.The objective of this paper, is to find out the "ecological mode", and apply it into the design work as assistances for architects today.
