Because of the fast development of electric and electronic technology, the harmonic problem has caused more and more concerns of people and drawn much attention increasingly of enterprises and power management sectors, which accelerates the development of solving the problem. In order to monitor power system harmonic real-timely and accurately, and grasp the actual conditions of power network harmonic, a design of new type digital electric monitoring instrument for power network is demanded urgently. For the superior capability of DSP, the DSP chips have led the application of apparatus and instrument.An automatic loading and running harmonic measurement analysis instrument which is divorced from emulator and based on the TMS320VC5402 chip of TI Co. is proposed. The hardware design includes the minimum system based on DSP, the data collection circuit board with AD73360, and the device connected to personal computer. The software design includes FFT arithmetic which is used to analyze harmonic, data collection, boot loader and program, and data serial transmission.The harmonic measurement device designed in this paper can get the data of input voltage and current signals of CNC machine tool, and provide the accurate harmonic data as the design reference of filter. The measured value of Grid-side voltage, current and harmonic meet the criterion, which verify that the design can measure and analyze harmonic accurately.
