The logic control unit(LCU) is a kind of important component equipment in the control system of electric locomotive, and it plays a very important role in the locomotive. With the continuous development of our country's rail transport industry, the original relay logic control unit has gradually been replaced by LCU, so the locomotive running reliability is greatly improved. Currently, the LCU is installed on the production of new electric locomotives in China, and the LCU also is installed on the old-fashioned electric locomotives after overhaul. Because the LCU plays a very important role on the safe operation of electric locomotives, its safe operation relates to the traffic safety of the entire train, but there are still some difficulties in real-time detection of the LCU on the locomotives, in order to make sure the LCU running in good condition, we must regularly detect, care and maintain the LCU in the field. So it is necessary to research, design and develop a kind of specialized testing equipment-LCU test platform, which is very important for the society and the economy.In this paper, the LCU in the SS4G electric locomotive as the main test object of the LCU test platform, and it take into account the LCU and DKL in the SS3 electric locomotive test. The LCU test platform can detect whether the LCU output logic is normal, and it can analysis the fault reason based on the test data when the fault occurred and given the treatment.The first part of this paper give the requirements of function and performance based on detailed introduce and analyze the characteristics, working principle, trapezoid diagram theory, main technical parameters and structure of the LCU which is the test target of the test platform. We introduce the design thinking of LCU test platform in succession, the LCU test platform is designed with modular design ideas and composed of five functional modules, and give the summary design and functional analysis of each functional module. In the fourth part, the CAN communication protocol between the module was detailed design, it mainly include the definition of CAN frame ID and data frame.After completed the overall design of system, the paper detailed description the design of hardware and software of the data collection and control module which is the most important part of the LCU test platform. We describe the module's function and hardware circuit of components, implemented board driver program prepared and transplantedμC/OS-Ⅱreal-time operating system to the microcontroller of MB90F543G, we detailed design the program of application layer, given the specific function and flow chart of each task.
