Developing big axle load, heavy-haul transportation has been one of the development directions in order to improve transport capacity and lower the cost, as could bring about much consequence, such as severe wheel-rail interaction, track destruction, side wear, and growth of the annul cost for rail maintenance and replacement. Project of research Wheel/rail contact and profile matching relationship on certain curved rail was carried out by the research team the thesis author is at, in order to further reduce wheel/rail wear after standard rail grinding and prolong rail service life. The profile design and analysis on heavy-haul railway curved rail was carried based on vehicle d dynamics and work finished before by the research team.Analysis dynamic model for heavy haul railway vehicle curving was built firstly, based on vehicle dynamic theory combining rail profile from field measure and every nonlinear factor. And then, heavy haul curved rail profiles were designed through preliminary design, detailed design, final design with the method proposed, and after which final railway curved rail profiles was confirmed through comparative analysis on wheel/rail contact geometry and vehicle curving performance by dynamic simulation using different rail profiles designedThe research team grinded the rail on curved heavy-haul railway, and field test on wheel/rail dynamic performance was carried out. The thesis comparatively analyzed the effect of the design proposal with results from simulation and field test, which showed that curved rail side wear can be effectively reduced by the design proposal presented.
