Straddled goods are overlong and valuable, and most of them are large equipments of national key engineering construction. Therefore safe transport of straddled goods is of significance to national modernization. Goods turning rack is the key loading and securing equipment in straddled goods transport. Its structure and strength has important influence on the safety of straddled goods transport.In order to guarantee the safety of straddled goods transportation, goods turning rack, with reasonable structure and technical condition, was designed according to the demand of goods. Stress distribution of the goods turning rack is obtained from the field test. It uses to identify whether the design of goods turning rack meeting design requirements and strength standard. The structure design and test of goods turning rack are based on Regulations on Loading and Securing of Railway Goods and TB/T2902-1998 Goods Turning Rack. But there are imperfect in many aspects.In order to meet the transport demand of straddled goods, reduce the wagon-group's grade of out-of-gauge and the center of gravity of loaded wagon, ensure the safety of straddled goods transportation, the following tasks has been done in this dissertation:(1)The basic technical requirements for goods turning rack are discussed. Design principles are put forward.(2)The force of goods turning rack is analyzed and its calculating method is determined. The load conditions of strength calculation are designed.(3)Aiming at the problem existing in the test standard, test method and test stress conversion are suggested.(4) Influencing factors of basic parameters of goods turning rack is discussed. Based on the wagon-group is not allowed getting across hump, the calculating model for the height of goods turning rack is put forward.(5) Parameters of crane main beam special turning rack are calculated. The special turning rack design is carried out by SolidWorks software.(6)After force calculation for special turning rack, strength analysis is performed by using finite elements analysis software of COSMOS/Works. According to calculations, it evaluates the design conditions of special turning rack.(7)Strength testing of special turning rack is carried out. After stress conversion, regression and synthesis, the result indicates that the strength of special turning rack meets standard. Through comparing test stress value with calculation value, verify the theoretical calculation.
