At present, the main situation of civil transporting packaging is that the household appliances'cushioning material mostly adopted PE foam (e.g. EPE), this kind of material is hard to recycle and pollute the environment. In many advanced nations and regions such as Europe, America and Japan, people are looking for new materials to instead PE Foam, and began to restrict the packaging of imported products. In the past years the export number of household is increasing, in order to catch up the international step, honeycomb paperboard is widely used to instead PE foam. Honeycomb paperboard has many advantages such as lightweight, high strength, high stiffness, good cushioning performance, structural stability etc. and thus have applications in many fields. The subject based on the further study on the cushioning performance of honeycomb paperboard material and its structure, use honeycomb paperboard to make cushioning pad in order to instead EPE materials in transporting packaging. This paper mainly studies the following aspects:First, based on the study on honeycomb paperboard, through the experiment way to compare and verify the theoretical model of four stage of static compression(linear elastic stage, elastic-plastic stage, plastic collapse stage, densification stage); Analysis the cushioning properties of different kinds of combinations, gives the cushioning coefficient of different combinations.Second, the paper adopted the way of experiment, studied the performance of combinatorial honeycomb paperboards'static compression, use MATLAB to analysis the experiment data:â‘ the influence to cushioning properties by structuresâ‘¡the influence to cushioning properties by different bearing areas.â‘¢Base on these properties, the paper has taken a design for computer enclosure; the design considered two box types offered 30 programs.At last, vibration and impact tests have been carried on to compare these programs to PE foam cushioning pad, at the same time; compare also has been taken with different programs. Thus optimal programs can be found out in these two kind of external loads. The results indicate that honeycomb paperboard pads can instead EPE kinds of pollution materials in actual transporting packaging, and analysis the influence to the cushioning properties in different external loads by different elements such as combinative structure, thick selection, bearing area. All these provide several doable programs for engineering application.
