| For wide-area adaptive backup protection, it is required to complete fault and section location before backup protection action, which prepares for setting of backup protection values. Traditional method locates fault location after protection action using protection acting information, and it can't totally meet the need of wide-area adaptive backup protection.In order to avoid the deficiency of traditional fault location, the paper presents new methods using system cluster and fuzzy C-means theory to locate fault element based on wide-area real-time information, and compares the advantage and disadvantage of the two methods. Aiming to improve the excation of locating fault using cluster analysis, two method are brought out, one is combining corelation degree with fuzzy C-means method, and the other is combing system cluster with fuzzy C-means method. According to theory analysis and simulation, it is proved that the latter method referred above is better and more reasonable. Finally though simulation of IEEE39 nodes system, it is proved that the method is effective and can locate fault without the influence of protection refusal-operation, protection misoperation, disappearance of DC power supply in station and high resistance grounding short fault. |
