With the development of industrial automation, remote monitoring system requirement of industrial control grows rapidly. Compared to the traditional wired network monitoring system, the wireless network monitoring system based on GPRS overcomes the shortcomings of the big investment of initial network, and the constraints in geographical, environmental and economic conditions, it saves a lot of manpower, material and financial resources.At the same time, With the Internet developing, the GPRS wireless network and Internet combined to achieve remote monitoring has become a hot research field.In this dissertation, an on-line remote monitoring system based on GPRS is designed which is used to monitor the operating states of lead-acid battery groups in telecommunication base stations located in remote areas, to meet the maintenance needs of both lead-acid battery manufacturers and the users. The dissertation analyzed and determined the overall system designe scheme, under the guiding ideology of scheme, the system is divided into three parts:on-site collection node, GPRS terminal unit and data monitoring center, classified according to function. The design of each part is well introduced broth from hardware and software.There are two kind of on-site collection node, one is voltage-temperature node, and the other is current node, both of them use C8051F350 as core processor to build up the acquisition hardware platform. The voltage-temperature collection circuit and current collection circuit are presented. GPRS terminal unit adopts processor LPC2134(ARM7) and GPRS wireless modem SIM300 which embedded with TCP/IP protocol as the core part to build up the hardware platform. The external interface circuit and the data communication process of SIM300 are introduced in detail. Data monitoring center developed by VB6.0 software development platform, uses Microsoft SQL Server as backend database, IIS as Web server. The realization of SOCKET communication technology, database technology and Web-based database access technology are researched. Data monitoring center achieved the function of data centralized management and data Internet publishing with the advantage of B/S architecture.Finally, the system testing experiment platform was constructed to test the performance and functionality of the overall system. The test results show that the on-site nodes can gather the working-state parameters of Lead-acid battery well; the GPRS data communication link between GPRS terminal unit and data monitoring center was built up fast and stable; data monitoring center runs in stable, with the basic functions in terms of real-time data display, curve, report, alarm and information Wed publishing.
