The rapid developing traffic in China is causing more transportation by roads. Channeled traffic phenomenon is producing. The proportion of overloaded and heavy-loaded vehicles in the whole traffic is increasingly prominent. All these factors cause seriously disease, the use of short duration and more early damage phenomenon to asphalt pavement of the high-grade highway in China. The asphalt mixture is a typical visco-elastic material that the mechanical properties will change under the temperature and the specific traffic loads. The asphalt pavement will be different types of pavement damage at the different range of temperature or different traffic loads. Therefore, the viscoelasticity is the essence for the properties of asphalt mixture. The control of viscoelasticity is the basic norms of asphalt mixture design, as well as the master line of analysis-design-prediction for asphalt mixture. This article based on the western construction scientific technology projects of ministry of communication(200631881221)"based on the research for the visco-elastic asphalt mixture design and analysis system", and this article introduced domestic and foreign to this topic research survey, drawing on the existing research results, starting from the simple performance test of asphalt mixture to analyze the influencing factor and dynamic modulus of asphalt mixture viscoelasticity. By analyzing the visco-elastic constitutive model in the current rheology to describe the relationship between stress and strain of asphalt mixture in the advantages and disadvantages, selecting the visco-elastic constitutive model not only describe the deformation characteristics of asphalt mixture but also facilitate asphalt mixture parameters through the dynamic creep test, and establishing the relationship between model parameters and rutting test results.Application of visco-elastic theory and menchanical performance test results of asphalt mixture establishs finite element model, using ANSYS finite element analysis software analyzes the change of rutting depth and development trend under the numberof axle load, temperature and overloading for asphalt pavement, in accordance with the actual rutting deformation of asphalt pavement, reflecting the reliability theory and application value.
