The Turbine Governor Based On MATLAB/GUI And Real-time Windows Target Test System Development

Turbine governor is the important control unit for a generator; its adjustment ability is directly impact on safety running and reliability of turbine and the quality of power supply To inspect the governor index, we must do fully test no matter ex-factory or after installation and maintain. Generally, for turbine governor, we complete static test before ex-factory, then perform the dynamic test and verify parameter on real turbine, it must take several tests to get the optimal parameters and product the huge impact to turbine. If we fully grasp turbine static and dynamic performance before ex-factory, it can effectively reduce times of the real machine test. Therefore it's necessary to develop a turbine test system including governor static and dynamic characteristics to reduce the unit test pressure.This paper develops the test system of the turbine governor static and dynamic characteristics based on MATLAB/GUI environment. Through the MATLAB/GUI graphical interface we deal with governor tests of the static and dynamic characteristics and its result in an integrated platform. The real-time data acquisition is implemented by Simulink programmable visualization environment via real-time window target; we can get the test data more convenient and accurate. Test system core is Advantech industrial computer, as well as the corresponding data acquisition card, the measured frequency and frequency cards and other hardware, to check the governor static characteristics test and load disturbance test, load rejection test features such as dynamic simulation.The results indicate that the test system has the hardware which is simple and reliable, the program that easy to modify, better real-time performance, direct and easy to operate, etc. Be able to qualify the requirements of the turbine governor static and dynamic test, with a practical value and application prospects.
