| With the rapid development of modern information technology, the current trend of mechanical design is combining the classical theory of mechanical design with existing design materials and actual empirical data in the company to form a company-oriented CAD software. Focusing on the needle bearings produced by JiangSu South Bearing Co., Ltd., this paper developed a software system which integrated the data query, parameters product design, process information automatically generated together by using Visual Basic 2005 programming language and API function as well as the redevelopement to SolidWorks2006 based on the object-oriented system design methodology and Access2007 platform. The main points of the paper are described as follows.(1) Combined the analysis to the user's requirements with the functionality and requirements of the system,the main structure of the system was designed. The main frame of the software was established and the total system was divided into some functional modules.(2) The system database was built by Access2007 according to bearing type, the bearing structural characteristics and the drawings of bearings. The query module was developed.(3) By using Visual Basic 2005 programming language and API function, SolidWorks2006 software was redeveloped and the software module was developed for parametric design of needle bearing.(4) The software module was developed for automatically generating of classic process information of the parts.(5) Based on the developement of the database management software, the integration of data query and products design was realized.The theoretical research results of the information and parameterization technologies were integrated together and a practical software was developed in the paper. The application of the software in the production would to be efficient in improving product development. Althouth the method is based on the needle bearing, its idea in design also suits standard parts and other series mechnical products. |
