Composite steel plate shear wall(CSPW) is a new lateral force resisting component. The concrete panels located on both sides of the steel plate. The concrete panels limits the overall buckling and local plate buckling of steel plate, so CSPW has a better displacement ductility and energy dissipation capacity. And concrete panels also have effect of fire protection and heat insulation. Composite steel plate shear wall is suitable for high-rise building, due to the good seismic behavior and ductility. This paper studies CSPW which connected by two sides. Steel plate which don't connect with the columns avoid additional moment on columns, and is beneficial to open doors and windows. The concrete panels which provide constrain for the steel don't participate in horizontal loading. It can reduce the damage of concrete panels. This paper used finite element software to analysis two sides-CSPW which is under monotonic loading and cyclic loading, such as the stress distribution, load-displacement curve, hysteretic curve, skeleton curve, yield load, initial stiffness. The stress maps show that stress of steel plate in four corners is largest. The yield development of the wall is the four corners, top and bottom, an area like "å·¥". The result shows that the hysteretic curve of CSPW is symmetrical and plump, and the yield load and initial stiffness of CSPW are with the increase of thickNess and aspect ratio. The wall consumes energe by yield steel.CSPW has good sesmic behavior and ductility. The paper introduces the simplified model of two sides-CSPW, the formulas of yield load and initial stiffness. The result of formulas and finite element analysis is similar. The paper also introduces the design method of CSPW and design requirements which can provide reference for the designers.
