As the first seismic fortification line of the coupled shear wall, obviously, the coupling beam is important. The steel plate composite(SPC)coupling beam, which is easy to construct and combine the advantage of steel and concrete, becomes the focus of research gradually.Nevertheless, the influence of steel plate ratio on SPC composite coupling beam needs to be further studied. In addition, the bolted end plate joint is introduced into the composite coupling beam as a new type of connection in the composite structure, and the seismic performance of the coupling beam is still to be studied. In view of above problems, the following research work has been carried out:(1)The steel plate ratio of composite coupling beam and the connection between the steel plate in the coupling beam and H-shaped steel in the column of coupled wall are taken as the main test parameter, and three specimens about composite coupled shear wall, which were designed to shear failure referring to related literature, were fabricated.(2)Test scheme was designed, including the loading device, loading scheme and the measurement scheme. Also the quasi-static tests of the three specimens were conducted.(3)The seismic performance index of specimens, including hysteretic curves, skeleton curves, bearing capacity, deformability of coupling beams, stiffness degradation curves and energy dissipation.,were acquired by processing the test data.Combined with phenomenon of tests, the seismic performance of three specimens were compared and analyzed.(4)In order to learn more about mechanical performance of specimens, the finite element analysis software DIANA was used to simulate and analyze experiment. As a result, the hysteresis curves and skeleton curves, gained from the analysis, were compared with the experimental results. The parameter analysis is carried out under the premise of good agreement.(5)According to the conclusions of the experiment and analysis, the paper summarized the shortcomings of this study. In addition, proposals and prospects for follow-up research were presented for further study.Based on results of the study, the following conclusions can be drawn:(1)Under the condition of the same shear-bearing capacity, the composite coupling beam with high steel plate ratio shows better energy dissipation capacity and ductility(2)In the composite coupled shear wall system with composite coupling beam, the bolted end plate connections with reasonable design have excellent seismic performance, and their seismic performance is not inferior to that of traditional welded joints.(3)The low steel plate ratio of composite coupling beam will lead to the loss of steel plate effect,so the further study should be carried out to investigate the optimum steel plate ratio.(4)The following conclusions can be drawn by using DIANA to simulate and analyze the specimens, the increase of concrete strength, the stirrup ratio or steel plate ratio of composite coupling beams can significantly improve the bearing capacity of specimens. And some suggestions about engineering are proposed.
