Zhoushan Linchen Central Business District Urban Design Process Research

To date, an important part of Urban Design-Implementation-gradually has shown a trend of scientization, openization, multiplication and comprehension. However, the problem relating to organization and operation mechanism in Urban Design process, which also is the most methodic aspect of Urban Design, still is in an exploring status both in domestic and foreign research field.Since eighties of last century, large scale physical construction has been dominating the process of urbanization in China. Urban design is widely applied as means of guiding physical construction, a kind of research topic, and also a kind of developing strategy. But, so far, in domestic Urban Design field, research relating to organization and operation mechanism in Urban Design process still remains its step in introducing exotic theory. Concerning with operation strategy and technique, relevant research still sticks in the status of theoretic discussion, neglecting the real condition of Urban Design practice in China. Everybody knows, if any outside foreign theory needs to be applied for domestic own use, a process of summary, rethinking, extension and innovation is indispensible. In this graduation dissertation, the author will theortically analyze a domestic real case-Zhoushan Linchen Central Business District Urban Design Practice, the process of which has revealed some similar characters with the foreign Urban Design Process Theory. This effort, though not to great extent, will contribute to the research realm relating to Urban Design Implementation, which is still in exploration so far.
