Nowadays, great progress has made in medium-sized cities in China, and many of them are to grow gradually into the ranks of major cities. However, in the course of city expansion, the cities have been perplexed by many incoordination phenomena, especially that between urban spatial structure and urban traffic. The coordinated development of urban spatial structure and urban traffic is the key to urban sustainable development.The urban spatial structure and the urban traffic is a unity of contradiction. The changes of the city scale, city functional layout, urban spatial density and urban spatial morphology will affect the choice of urban transport, the distribution of transit passenger, the travel characteristics and road network structure. The updating urban traffic modes, breaking the limitation of speed and carrier capability, provides the foundation and the decisive condition for the urban spatial expansion. And there is different urban spatial structure form because of different form of urban road network. Accessibility improvements exerts influence on the applying character, exploitation scale and construction speed of the land through the location choices of the residents and businesses, which make differences in the urban spatial structure.This thesis,by reviewing the related theories of relationship between urban spatial structure and the urban traffic, analyzing the interactive effects between them and summarizeing the characteristics of them in medium-sized cities, is helpful to comprehensiveness, integrity and adaptability of the relevant theoretical construction,and inserts new content. Taking Suining for example, the evolution characteristics and interaction between urban spatial structure and the urban traffic in Suining is analyzed, and the problems between them is proposed. Based on the research to the relevant strategies and measures to promote coordination between them, the BRT-oriented TOD-based model urban spatial structure of Suining City is proposed, and solutions to urban traffic problems are provided. This can provide a reference for the future transport policy and urban planning and promote sustainable development of city.In this thesis, the analysis by combination of qualitative research and quantitative research is adopted. Research, to the interaction between Suining urban spatial structure and urban traffic, depending not only on qualitative analysis but also on space Syntax for quantitative analysis, is another innovation of this thesis which improve the scientific and readability of analysis. Taking Suining as the case, this thesis summarizes the evolution course of the urban spatial structure and the urban traffic, analyzes the interaction between them and proposes some measures for coordination between the two. The analysis, combination of theoretical research and empirical analysis, not only promotes the development of the theory but also serves practice. |
