With the development of society and economics, the lithium-ion battery get more and more people's attention, used in many device fields, such as cars, bicycles, laptops. However, the problems caused by battery's security have become a major constraining factor in its further development. How to improve the battery's safety performance, extend battery life span and improve the energy efficiency of the battery is very necessary. So it is very important for us to do some research on battery management technology.This paper is aim to design a fully functional electric bicycle battery mangement system based on work characteristics of the lithium-ion battery pack. This article focused on the system hardware design, management system in accordance with the overall control scheme and modular design ideas, detailed analysis of the battery management system, microcontrollers, data acquisition module, balance and protection circuit modules, SOC display module of the circuit design and software implementation, analysis commonly used in battery equalization method and control strategy the basis of Propose had this system used in the charge balance method and control strategy, and which methods and strategies of the simulation proved that it's feasibility.The system consists of a balanced charging module, data acquisition module, power calculation module, protection module. System uses Freescale MC9S08DZ16 CPU, through the immediate acquisition module collects the battery voltage, current, and temperature, prevent the battery from over-voltage, over temperature, over-current, make battery more secure, continuing process in effect, extend battery life span, increase the electric bicycle security in motion.This design of lithium battery management system's hardware reliability, economy, anti-interference ability. the estimated on remaining capacity SOC is accurate through practice, balanced can basically meet the requirements.
