At present, the exploitation of solar energy has become the focus of the world's R&D, whereas silicon-based photovoltaic technology as a market-driven gradually is cooled by people for the space of cost down is too small. The concentrated photovoltaic technology has the advantage of low cost, so it will instead of silicon-based photovoltaic technology. But concentrated photovoltaic system have some problems, for example, tracker's tracking accuracy is low, focused spot irradiance distribution is ununiform, the shape of focused spot is different from the solar cell's, and so on. To solve these problems, the concentrator used in concentrated photovoltaic system is studied in this paper.A theoretical formula is obtained by analysing theoretically two-dimensional ray tracing. On the basis of the theoretical formula, a secondary optics for concentrated photovoltaic system is designed and ray-tracing simulated in the non-sequential mode of Zemax. On the basis of ray-tracing simulation, the initial structure parameters of secondary optics are optimized continuously, and the optimal structure of the secondary optics to meet the target of system design is obtained. The performance and energy loss of the secondary optics are analysed by simulating. and a feasible scheme to reducing energy loss is proposed. The I-V performence of the concentrated photovoltaic module with secondary optics and without secondary optics is tested respectively, and the conclusions of secondary optics can significantly improve the efficiency of the concentrated photovoltaic module is got.
