Semiconductor lighting, for example LED lighting enter into the high-speed development period after about40years of rapid development, with many advantages the traditional light source not available, is considered as the most valuable applications in the21st century, getting more and more popular in the application of optical fields, such as backlighting, projection display, indoor and outdoor lighting and new energy technologies. This paper introduces the history and development of non imaging optics, and the non imaging optics in the application of lighting system. This paper discusses the Etendue、the energy collection rate、the Lagrange invariant in detail, and the maximum rate of energy relations with etendue, Lagrange inter-face between the invariants, in order to lay the theoretical foundation for the subsequent design of algorithms freeform.Meanwhile, this paper classifies the optical devices, expound the nature of the various components of the light distribution in detail, and gives various bus equation of optical devices.Combine with the design of compound parabolic concentrator,it presents the use of the Tracepro. It needs to design every angle lens flare uniformly distributed in order to achieve the illumination spot distribution. This paper expounds the general design methods of free lens to discuss the advantages and disadvantages of each method. The basic idea of this paper to take direct method freeform surface design of rotationally symmetric lens LED. According to the luminescent characteristics and the spot distribution of target illumination plane, it combines the use of light to calculate the marginal ray theory, then will simplify the second-order nonlinear equations into a first-order quasi-linear partial differential equations, which greatly reduces the difficulty of solving simplify the calculations. Under certain circumstances the required shape LED spot with a lens, this is a very fast and effective way. It produces a uniform rectangular beam lens120°×60°design based on the method of design, according to the simulation results, spot rectangular, smooth edge, even light, a light receiving more than85%.
