As the major equipment of construction machinery, hydraulic cranes were widely used in mechanized construction process. It plays a very important role in reducing labor intensity, saving manpower, reducing the construction cost , improving the construction quality and accelerate the construction speed.But in recent years,crane accident arises,crane boom touch high-tension,arm-side collide barrier,so it is important to develop work space limit technology.In this paper,based on investigating the crane working environment, we summed up several various correspondence of the work space with obstacles. summarize several common types of obstacles, plan the safe working space of crane, and put forward the collision detection algorithm.Based on the virtual prototype technology, we establish crane dynamic model and hydraulic system model, do co-simulation of mechanical hydraulic ,and analysis on the influence factors of crane brake smoothness. Results show that the greater the rotary inertia, the braking original speed and the steep slope, the greater the impact on the system.So we formulate crane emergency shutdown control strategy, and plan the related parameters to guide practical test.Based on IFLEX5 controller,we development display graphical interface , prepare the virtual wall monitoring procedures and braking control procedures. Using experimental platform,we do some proof test. Results show that the active safety technology is feasible, the braking strategies is reasonable and HMI is easy for the driver to operate.
