With the continuous improvement of China’s economic strength, the car as a means oftransport has went into the lives of ordinary people. However, the frequent accidents havecaused losses to life and property safety of the masses. And the potential risk of trafficaccidents also is drawn increasing attention. In order to effectively reduce traffic accidents,necessary measures, such as improving road traffic conditions, improving the trafficregulations and management as well as improving driver quality should be taken.Automotiveelectronics products installed on the car should also be made full use of. While the use ofhigh-tech automotive electronics products play an increasingly important role in theautomotive field of active safety. This research content is about the vehicle traffic safetydistance warning system, which can effectively avoid accidents caused by the improperdriving distance.Through surveying the research and development situation of the vehicle traffic safetydistance warning system, we found that domestic vehicle traffic safety distance warningsystem lags far behind that of foreign countries. The vehicle traffic safety distance warningsystem in domestic is mainly to study the traffic safety distance algorithm, but is less in therelated systems hardware research. The main content of this paper is the platform for theestablishment of the whole system, as well as traffic safety distance algorithm validation.After comparison, we chose the development board based on the DSP2812system as the coreof the entire hardware system and designed the acquisition module, data processing module,display and alarm modules. Then the development platform of the entire system is built onthis basis. And we explore and examine the entire hardware system and traffic safety distancealgorithm to in detail.Real-time monitoring of traffic safety distance test is doing on the hardware platform basedvehicle traffic safety distance warning system. In the testing process, display module andalarm module are verified and it proves that this hardware platform could meet systemperformance requirements. Finally, we discuss and research the traffic safety distancealgorithm deeply, and do the appropriate verification tests. So a solid foundation for furtherstudy of the whole subject has been laid.
