Comparative Study On The Port Waterway Depth Standards Of China And Japan

Sea transportation is an important component of compositive transport system, also a fundamental industry of national economy. After entry of WTO, navigation industry encounters unprecedentedchance and chanllenge. Under this circumstance, our gorvenment and enterprise explore new development thoughts continuously. Through analysis of the current condition, the government and enterprises manipulate corresponding regulations and methods, to ensure the national navigation industry develop smoothly. This paper investigates the regulations on the waterway depth, width and turning radius in Chinese< Sea Port General Layout Design Code>. By comparison with Japanese , comparison study is made between these two standards on the corresponding waterway design dimension, analysis the deficiency of regulations on the waterway dimensions in China. The goal of this paper is to make contribution on the revision and perfection of the current regulations on waterway for government and research institute.
