Spool valve with notches is one of the basic constructions of hydraulic valve, which is widely used in hydraulic servo valve or proportional valve. Different notch can get different flow rate, pressure and flow force characteristics, and thus which have a great impact for the performance of hydraulic valves. In this thesis, Fluent software is used to take static simulation for the spool valve with U-shaped, K-shaped and U + K combination notches, and take dynamic simulation for the spool valve with K-shaped, and make a detailed study of their various characteristics.First of all, based on the pressure distribution characteristics of U-shaped, K-shaped and U+K-shaped notches, a valve orifice area formula is deduced according to the equivalent orifice area principle. And general program was written by mathematical tools MathCAD, which can calculate a specific value when the notch structure and size is given. This is a basic for the research of flow force.Second, simulation models for different coefficient opening was established by the 3D CAD software and Gambit which is pre-processing software of Fluent, and the model was division with the unstructured grid. Then the steady-state simulations were taken by Fluent software. The pressure distribution, velocity distribution, flow characteristics and flow force characteristics were analyzed. And entire situation in the spool valve with notch was introduced by the way of the visualization.Valve core them more often in motion, so we pay more attention to the process of internal flow when spool valve moves. Therefore, this thesis finally established a dynamic model, and take dynamic simulation by the method of sliding mesh in Fluent when the velocity was given. The spool valve internal pressure, speed, flow, and other characteristics were researched, and the animation files which more profoundly reflect the internal flow field were produced.
