The early prediction and diagnosis on the failures of equipments, especially, circuit breaker, play an important role to guarantee the safety of the power system and improve the reliability of the electric power system. In recent years, a growing attention has been paid to studying it. Base on the references, at present the technology of monitoring for circuit breaker has a lot of problems.In this paper, according to monitoring technology, we developed an integrated Online Monitoring System for circuit breaker, which can supply basis for integrated diagnosis. Application of wavelet analysis theory and various signal processing methods, YunCheng Power Supply Bureau of the circuit breaker online monitoring data collected, focusing on analysis of vibration signals with the coil current waveform, and thus get a state of dynamic characteristics of online circuit breaker. The data will be transmitted between the up level machine and down level machine by USB communication. Then, we implement the feature extraction algorithm with C++ Builder programming. In the end, there is some testing of the feature extraction module and the whole system.With results from the test, monitoring methods can be further improved, but also increase the amount of monitoring features. However, the designed achieve the desired purpose. In addition, the system has friendly user interface and is easily to be maintained. At present the system has been booking by some Power Supply Bureau, there are good prospects in the power industry applications.
