Corrugated boxes with show window are used for display and sales on supermarket shelves, and made of micro-corrugated boards. They are small and fine printed, but they are afraid of bearing extra load because products inside need fine external appearance. Based on structural stability, carrying capacity of the corrugated boxes with show windows are the important research objects in this paper, and influence of patterns of show window on compressive strength of corrugated boxes are also analyzed. For the convenience purpose, several common factors are set for the experiments, such as shape, position, size of show windows.Corrugated boards are orthotropic boards, have sandwich,wave structure,with material discontinuity. So it needs to simplify and make corrugated boards equivalent to orthotropic boards, and decided material parameters. After that, this paper analyzed stability and carrying capacity of the modes of corrugated boxes and their side boards using classical theory of elasticity and calculated critical buckling load of these models. In this paper, the finite element models of corrugated boxes and corrugated boards were given based on ANSYS10.0, then static analysis and buckling analysis which belongs to finite element analysis (FEA) were carried out so as to get the critical buckling load of these models, and the critical values were verified by theoretical values.In this paper, the test method, finite element method and theoretical method were used to analyze the influence of patterns of show window on compressive strength of corrugated boxes, meanwhile, the finite element models were given, and the results with a certain regular trend were obtained. Meanwhile, it is showed similar regularity by results from three methods, which indicate that the three method were all proper for the analysis of carrying capacity of the modes of corrugated boxes and their side boards. And it is also testified that the finite element models were rational.The conclusions from the analyse indicate that corrugated boxes with wide and flat window have high bearing capacity; simultaneously, when show window is in the geometric center of a corrugated box, it has high bearing capacity, too.And by way of discussing and analyzing factors of window combined with test results and finite result, a few primary rational suggestions which have a certain guiding were given for design of show windows of corrugated boxes. And the advantages of modeling based on ANSYS are that it can reduce testing times and cost of design for optimization in the future. Due to the above-mentioned advantages, finite element method is recommend to analysis carrying capacity of the modes of corrugated boxes.
