Along with the intensification of the global energy crisis and industrial production for energy-dependent strengthening, many countries in the world have invested large amount of manpower, material and financial resources in renewable energy research. Solar energy, as a green, clean renewable energy, has three kinds of main application form, being bright thermal applications, photovoltaic applications, and light guide illumination. The photovoltaic application makes use of the solar cells to convert solar energy to electrical energy, which is made of semiconductor silicon material.Starting with the photovoltaic application, this paper researches the PV technology integration systems in steel structure building. Based on the connection and construction method between PV module and steel structure, the integrated systems of the PV steel structure are divided into six kinds, which are tilted array type, hidden frame type, cladding type, single point type, flat horizontal type and pasted type. The type of the best integrated degree is the pasted type, and the worst one is the tilted array type.Then,a modular embedded PV modules design idea is proposed in the paper. Its basic design idea is that making use of longitudinal and lateral connection frame to form grid area. And then every one PV module is embedded in the single grid directly, implementing modular installation in order to be operated and maintained convenience. Under the design idea guidance, we design and research kinds of components in embedded modular photovoltaic module, such as frame and connection bracket, completing the research and development of such PV modules. The dimension of the designed PV module is 1646mm×874mm×50mm.For the designed PV module, we complete the mechanical performance test, relationship test between power generation efficiency and load force, static water-tightness test, obtaining the corresponding test data. In the PV module mechanical performance test, when it's loaded at the fifth load degree (2400Pa),the deflection at the center point of the solar panel is 19.505mm. conformed to the requirement. In the power generation efficiency test, when the PV module is loaded, the efficiency reduced by 4.65% most, less than 5% in the code requirement. And the static water-tightness test indicates that the PV module has great water-tightness performance.At end, on the basis of test, the embedded modular PV modules are applied in a practical demonstration project, on which photovoltaic system is carried out a detailed design and discussion. 548 blocks PV modules are installed in the demonstration project about embedded modular PV module, and its peak power of the system is 98.28KW.The system will generate 9.92KWh annually every year, and can save 967.5 ton standard coal in the 25 years term.
